FORT GETTY ROAD FISHING PIER
The 41-acre Fort Getty Park is a Town-owned park that is situated at the end of Fort Getty Road. Originally, the park was a Military fort going back in the year 1900. The Fort was named after Colonel George Getty, who had a remarkable career in the Mexican-American War, the American Civil War, and subsequently. For the following years, the fort was transferred its properties to the Town of Jamestown, making it a park and primarily build a campground. The park has different features and one of it is its fishing pier. Park’s pier offers different varieties of fish and does not require a fishing license. Both the park and the pier are open 24 hours a day. As of the moment, Fort Getty Campground is closed for season 2022.
