GOOSE ISLAND FISHING PIER

Goose Island State Park Fishing Pier, a 1,620-foot-long bridge located north of Rockport in Aransas County, is a privately owned state park that was established in 1931-1935. There are hundreds of Coastal live oaks in the area, so this park is home to a large tree. Hurricane Harvey devastated the Gulf Coast in 2017, the authorities have closed the pier due to the damage caused by the hurricane. The reconstruction took a long time due to a lack of funds. It takes more than three years for the Goose Island State Park Fishing Pier to reopen. Goose Island State Park’s new fishing pier, bay front area, and bay front campsites are now open to the public.
