
LT. JOHN J. McCORKLE FISHING PIER
The Lt. John J. McCorkle Public Fishing pier presents a beautiful view of the sea and a fishing destination in South Boston. Named after Lt. John McCorkle, a Boston Fire Officer who died in a fire incident, this L-shaped pier juts out 40 ft. into the water, then extends almost 150 ft along the beach. This structure was a popular fishing destination on Castle Island. With numerous catches like bluefish and winter flounder. Experienced and amateur anglers can be seen in this spot all day long.
