The Anglers Club of Absecon Island built its first fishing pier in 1923. The building of the fishing pier structure started immediately after that. It has survived all the difficulties Mother Nature has thrown at it like storms, hurricanes and even fire. As of now, the pier features several fishing spots and a shack at the outer tee. For fishing in cold weather, the shed contains a heater and a mini-fridge. For cleaning the day’s catch, there are several bait tables with sinks and running water. Members have access to a shed with a freezer filled with frozen bait as well as another refrigerator/freezer for storing their own bait. The pier is equipped for night fishing and well-lit. The pier remained a private fishing pier for all these years.
