SHARK RIVER INLET JETTY
Sandwitched between two beaches, the Shark River Inlet is a passage that flows from the Shark River in Monmouth County into the Atlantic Ocean. This inlet was surrounded by two rock jetties, an L-shaped jetty located within the Avon-by-the-Sea beach, and a longer straight jetty located within the waters of Belmar Beach. These jetties were a popular fishing spot in the area. The inlet also serves as a recreational place for sportfishermen and divers.
