BAYSHORE WATERFRONT PARK FISHING PIER
Sandy Hook Bay’s flourishing coastal ecosystem is preserved by Bayshore Waterfront Park, which is situated in Port Monmouth near to Monmouth Cove Marina. This park, which spans 227 acres, features a 300-foot fishing pier with access to Raritan Bay. Looking back, this park was acquired by the Monmouth County in 1988. After ten years, the Middletown Township’s Seabrook-Wilson House, one of the Bayshore area’s oldest still-standing homes with connections to both the marine and early settlement histories of the area, was acquired and added to the park. Hurricane Sandy in 2012 caused damage to the fishing pier. Following the tragedy, the Monmouth County rebuilt the pier and installed a new one.
