SEVENMILE BRIDGE FISHING PIER
This pier is the remains of the former 7 mile bridge that starts at Hog Key. Instead of completely removing the old bridge it was decided to turn the two sections into a walking pier. Managed by the Monroe County Public Works there are no amenities, but excellent fishing for everything from large snook to Goliath Grouper. Be sure to bring drinks and a cooler since it gets very hot on the bridge. Also don’t forget a scoop net or gaff. For parking it is suggested to pull over when you get to Hog Key. There will be parking on the right and then you can walk to your fishing spot. If you miss the turn off it will be a 14 mile round trip to try again.
